Indiana Distracted Driving Law Firm

Distracted Driving FAQ's

Q: Why is distracted driving becoming an issue?

A: Distracted driving has gained worldwide attention recently because more and more studies are showing that it's a serious threat. Besides, there are now countless examples clearly proving how distracted drivers have forever changed the lives of others. This includes not only their lives in many cases but, tragically, the lives of the completely innocent – as well as the lives of family and friends of those killed or seriously injured directly due to distracted driving. For example, a recent study showed the risk of a crash at least doubles when drivers take their eyes off the road for longer than one second. One second will go by sooner than you can say "one-thousand one!" Think about it! Safety experts have always believed most accidents are caused by human error. But now, distractions have increased quite dramatically because we are now able to take more and more technology not only into our cars and trucks as you might expect; but, even while on our motorcycles and bicycles as well. Unfortunately, many people are trying to squeeze more into their days by mixing distractions with driving – which is turning out to be a "life-changing" combination, if not a deadly combination for the distracted driver and those they affect in the aftermath in result.
