Traumatic Brain Injury FAQ's
Q: Could I have a brain injury even though I felt fine after my accident?
A: Absolutely Yes and you may not even know or recognize it. Others that know you well may discover it well before you do and even before a medical diagnosis in some cases. Victims can look and feel fine after a brain injury, but develop symptoms days or weeks later on a gradual basis. This could be especially true if the victim is in shock after a car crash or discouraged from complaining either from family members, your employer and sometimes even your doctor. Traumatic brain injury symptoms to watch out for include a persistent headache; trouble with memory and thinking; blurred vision; sleeping too much or too little; personality changes even if ever so slight; dizziness and nausea or other odd or abnormal symptoms whether they are recognized by you or by someone who knows you. Should your symptoms change quickly, take heed and listen to your body and seek medical help immediately. See a doctor as soon as you notice any symptoms whatsoever or present to the ER at a hospital before too much time goes by depending upon your symptoms. The sooner you present to a medical professional or ER at the hospital if necessary, the better chances of success there will be in treating your injury before it has time to worsen your condition.
