Indiana Traumatic Brain Injury Lawyers

Traumatic Brain Injury FAQ's

Q: What does it cost to treat a brain injury?

A: According to federal statistics, the total cost of brain injuries in the United States is in the staggering tens of millions dollars and are increasing not only due to an increase in brain injury accidents and crashes but due to the dramatic increase of medical costs associated with traumatic brain injury – even if a MTBI case, which is short for "Mild Traumatic Brain Injury." The cost of initial brain injury treatment could reach near $100,000 and some much higher than that. And, that's just the initial brain injury treatment, depending on the severity of the injury. Once the cost of therapy and rehabilitation is factored in, these costs can unbelieveably reach into the millions, just for one individual patient. Victims sometimes also lose an income because they can no longer work and may have to go on some form of disability and some are forced to file bankruptcy. Divorces and significant depression thereafter are, although common, do not always occur and are on a case by case basis with affecting factors too numerous to discuss.
