Will the insurance company pay for my loss of income?
In this video, Sevenish Law answers the question: Will the insurance company pay for my loss of income? Yes. In no-fault states, your own insurance will pay for most of your lost income. In at-fault states, the other driver's liability insurance should pay all of your costs, including lost income. Income loss may also be covered by a separate policy, and people injured at work may be eligible for workers' compensation payments and/or Short or Long-Term Disability. Unfortunately, insurance companies resist making these payments, and some drivers have to sue to collect what they are owed. An experienced injury lawyer will know how to protect your interests and how to negotiate down the variety of liens from these companies. Otherwise you may have to reimburse them the entire amounts.
